Meta has added agentic AI to Ads Manager that lets advertisers plan, launch and manage campaigns through plain-language prompts, with human sign-off before anything goes live. Muse, Meta's AI agent, can also connect to your ad account, Instagram and business tools to help draft campaigns. Setup is becoming easy for everyone, so results will depend on what you feed the AI: clean conversion data, clear goals, strong creative and a real offer.

What Meta Announced
Meta has added agentic AI capabilities to Ads Manager. Instead of building every campaign field by field, advertisers can describe what they want in plain language and let an AI assistant plan, launch and manage the campaign, working under human oversight.
- Conversational setup. Describe your goal, budget and audience in a prompt, and the assistant drafts the campaign.
- Creative and audiences. The assistant can generate creative assets and adjust audience parameters.
- Spend adjustments. It can change ad spend as results come in.
- Memory. It keeps context such as past test results, seasonal trends and brand guidelines, and you can import brand strategy documents.
- Agency and platform access. An expanded Meta Ads MCP server lets outside AI marketing platforms stage draft campaigns, with permission controls and required human sign-off before anything is published.
- Plain-text audiences. Conversational audience discovery is rolling out to Detailed Targeting, so you can describe a buyer persona in words.
You describe the outcome. The AI builds it. You still approve what goes live.
Where Muse Fits In
Muse is Meta's AI agent. With Muse for Small Business, owners can connect Instagram professional analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts, plus tools such as Shopify, Canva, QuickBooks, Slack and Stripe. That gives the agent context on what the business sells, how the brand talks and what customers ask about.
Using that context, Muse can look at ad account data to see what is working across ads and content, and help draft a new campaign. Meta states that nothing is published, sent or spent without the owner's approval. The small business version launched first in the US and Canada.
Manual vs Agentic: What Actually Changes
| Task | Manual today | With agentic AI | What you still own |
|---|---|---|---|
| Campaign setup | Choose every field by hand | Drafted from a prompt | The objective and the brief |
| Audience | Build targeting options | Described in plain language | Who your real buyer is |
| Creative | Design and upload each ad | Assets generated and varied | Brand, offer and proof |
| Budget | Manual changes and rules | Adjusted by the assistant | Limits and approval |
| Optimisation | Read reports, make changes | Suggested or applied by AI | The conversion data it learns from |
| Strategy | Your team | Your team | Everything that makes you different |
Why Your Inputs Now Decide Results
When every advertiser can launch a campaign with one prompt, setup stops being an advantage. The AI optimises toward whatever you feed it, so the quality of four inputs decides who wins the auction.
| Input | What good looks like | What goes wrong without it |
|---|---|---|
| Clean conversion data | Pixel plus Conversions API, the right events, values passed | The AI optimises for cheap, low-value actions |
| Clear goals | One objective, a target cost per result or ROAS | Spend moves toward the wrong outcome |
| Strong creative | Several distinct concepts with clear hooks | The AI has nothing good to choose from |
| A real offer | A reason to buy now on a fast, matching page | Clicks arrive but sales do not |
This is the same shift Meta started with Andromeda, where creative became the targeting. Agentic tools take it further: the machine handles the buttons, and your data, creative and offer become the strategy.

How to Prepare Your Account Now
- Audit tracking. Set up the Meta Conversions API alongside the pixel and check event match quality.
- Write a brand brief. Tone, claims you can make, words to avoid and your best proof. The assistant can use documents like this as context.
- Build a creative library. Use a creative testing framework so you always have proven concepts to feed in.
- Set guardrails. Decide budget limits, approval steps and the metrics that matter before automation runs.
- Fix the landing page. AI can bring more traffic, but only the page can convert it.
Risks to Watch
- Optimising to the wrong event. If tracking is weak, the AI scales whatever is easiest to get.
- Off-brand creative. Generated assets still need a human check for claims, tone and accuracy.
- Budget drift. Review spend changes against agreed limits.
- Lost learning. Keep a log of what the AI changed and why, so you know what drove results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will Meta's AI replace media buyers?
It replaces much of the manual setup, not the strategy. Someone still has to define goals, protect tracking quality, supply strong creative and offers, and approve what the AI does.
Does Muse spend money without approval?
Meta states that nothing is published, sent or spent without the owner's approval. Muse can review ad data and help draft campaigns.
What should I fix first to get ready?
Tracking. Make sure the pixel and Conversions API send the right events with values, because the AI learns from that data before anything else.
